Cold & Ambient Storage Services
Burlington Distribution Company provides temperature-controlled storage for products requiring refrigerated or frozen conditions.
Our standard storage environments are:
- Frozen storage: Approximately 0°F
- Refrigerated storage: Approximately 34°F
- Conditioned ambient storage: Approximately 70°F
Temperature-monitoring reports are available upon request. Customers should provide all applicable product-storage requirements before delivery so our team can confirm that the appropriate environment and capacity are available.
Our facility is inspected by the North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (NCDA&CS) and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
Please note that Burlington Distribution Company does not accept fresh fish.

Cross-Docking & Container Unloading
Our conditioned ambient storage provides an indoor environment maintained at approximately 70°F.
It is ideal for products that do not require refrigeration or freezing but benefit from protection against significant temperature fluctuations.
There is no minimum pallet quantity.
Maximum capacity depends on available space at the time service is requested.

Cross-Docking
Burlington Distribution Company offers cross-docking and unloading services to help customers receive, transfer, and move products efficiently.
Available services include:
- Transferring products between inbound and outbound shipments
- Unloading trailers and shipping containers
- Unloading floor-loaded containers
- Preparing products for storage or continued transportation
- Coordinating inbound and outbound appointments
Cross-docking and unloading services are quoted according to shipment size, product configuration, labor requirements, equipment needs, and scheduling.

Pallet Restacking and Repacking
We provide pallet-restacking and repacking services for loads that require correction, reconfiguration, or preparation for continued transportation or storage.
- Available services include:
- Restacking shifted or unstable pallets
- Rebuilding damaged pallet configurations
- Reformatting palletized loads
- Rewrapping completed pallets
- Preparing corrected loads for storage or onward transportation
Our standard turnaround time is approximately 24 hours after the product is received and the required work is confirmed.
Actual completion time may vary based on load condition, quantity, labor requirements, and scheduled workload.

Pickup and Delivery
Pickup and delivery services are available both directly through Burlington Distribution Company and through qualified transportation partners.
Our general service area includes destinations within approximately five hours of Burlington, North Carolina. Availability and pricing depend on the shipment size, locations, required temperature conditions, scheduling, and special handling requirements.

Scheduling and Operating Hours
Receiving, pickup, and delivery services are available by appointment:
Monday–Friday
8:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.
At least 24 hours’ notice is required to schedule a drop-off or pickup. Appointment availability is subject to facility capacity, staffing, and existing scheduled activity.
Storage Availability
Burlington Distribution Company does not require a minimum pallet quantity. Maximum storage volume depends on available refrigerated, frozen, or conditioned ambient capacity at the time of the request.
